We’re more than excited to share these success stories with you because we truly enjoy making a difference for our patients. While no medical professional can guarantee every patient a successful outcome we are blessed to have many, many more success stories to share than we can include here. Give us a call today — together we may be able to address the issues you’re dealing with.
This little guy participated in the Sensory Learning Program last year. He came to us with numerous sensory processing issues that caused his parents and grandparents to be concerned with his development and how that would affect his ability to function within a classroom setting in the future. Not only did he steal our hearts he continues to have incredible, life-changing results! His mom recently shared this progress report:
“Today “K” had his OT evaluation…and guess what?! They declined him! It makes my heart happy! When I was filling out the questionnaire form I was getting teary eyed because a year ago my answers would have been the complete opposite. And (I realized) how much in denial we were in thinking he was a normal 2 year old then. So many of the questions made me sit back and think how much “K” has improved. When I was talking to the OT person explaining how he used to be, “K” looked up and said, “I do not have to cover my ears anymore”…my heart melted! The guy looked at him and said, “That’s great buddy!” We are so thankful for all you have done over this year for us and for loving our, “K”. We were going to stop by to tell you in person, but he needed a nap.”
“L” reports he now likes school! Math is easier for him and at his last check-in he reports he has all “A’s” in his classes. His mom says that he is able to fall asleep so much quicker. It used to take him 1-2 hours but since completing the Sensory Learning program he goes to sleep right away and no longer needs to watch TV or play on his phone to become sleepy. Before the program anger was an issue — when “L” would get angry he would yell and slam things. Since completing the program L’s anger has decreased and when he does get angry he just pouts for a few minutes then gets over it quickly. Here’s to you and your ongoing success L!
Since completing The Sensory Learning Program, we have noticed his anxiety has decreased. While this might seem small, he no longer is paranoid when thunderstorms are coming. Before, if we had a chance of bad weather coming in, he would be glued to the TV or internet. Now, he will pay attention but it doesn’t consume him. We’ve also noticed how much more outgoing he has become when we are at family functions. One of my aunts told me how big of a change she noticed in him and that he actually came up and gave her a hug – something he never did before. Of course there are more, but too many to name. Starting this I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be, to me “J” never had a big disability or problem, but something just wasn’t right and we never knew what it was. These may seem like little changes but how he feels has made it all worth it! For me to know he feels different and better makes my heart happy! We are anxious to see how he does now that we are ending the vision therapy portion of this. His eyes have made great improvements with tracking and J tells us how much easier it is for him to sound out words and blend them together. It’s wonderful to hear him say he can tell a difference. I have nothing but high hopes for continued improvements from this program. ~ J’s Mom
“A” is eight years old and was struggling with reading and comprehension before giving Brodie Optometry’s Vision Therapy a try. Check out what her mom is saying: “My daughter, “A” was having a very difficult time with reading and comprehending what she had read. At this point she can read and comprehend much better — her reading level has significantly increased. “A’s” teachers have complimented her accomplishments and have even sent letters home expressing how impressed they are at the changes it has made in her school progression and attitude for learning. As I stated already, her attitude has changed enormously! She now has a positive attitude and does not get as discouraged or angry as she did prior to this therapy.
Along with the educational aspect of this therapy, it has also helped her tremendously in baseball. Last year she could only hit the ball off the tee, not the pitching machine. So far this year, she has hit a ball pitched by the machine every time she has come up to bat.
